The teen group was presenting the award for Best R&B Artist alongside Mike Epps during the ceremony last night when they compared Epps’ poor singing to Lauryn’s recent tax woes which could see her in prison for up to three years.
Beyonce was announced as the winner of the category and gracefully went to accept her award and greeted every member of the group. The ‘Run The World (Girls)’ singer tributed her win to several R&B singers including Lauryn Hill and Whitney Houston.
However, TMZ claims that Lauryn was never meant to be included in the speech and was only included when she heard the group diss her.
When the Handler praised Bey for including Lauryn’s name, she added: “I just felt [the diss] was wrong.”
