Big Dave sheds light on the hip hop scene via his homeland in Canberra, Australia as well as gives insight on his climb to independent fame through his recording label KP Records, his latest album, and collaborations and performances with big name artist such as Ice Cube, Kurupt, and WC. Australian entertainment business KP Records was officially founded in January 2007 by local music promoter and artist Big Dave Parsons. The business currently functions as a record label, an artist management company and a promotions and event staging venture amongst other things.
With national and sometimes even international media coverage the music and message of KP has spread well beyond the City’s borders and continues to do so. Like its growing support base the labels roster of artists has expanded outside of its Canberra region.
The KP roster itself features a broad range of unique styles and talented artists whose sound is just as diverse as the cultures and back grounds from which they came. The current roster includes; Big Dave (MC), Grantwho? (DJ/Producer), N2W (DJ Frags and MC Mibs), Kitty B (RnB soul vocalist), Dlinkwnt (MC), Bishop (MC) , Pug D (MC), Collossuss (MC) and Eitha (MC).
The KP team has recorded, toured and performed with acts like; Ice Cube, Bone Thugs N Harmony, D12, Obie Trice, Tech N9ne, Kurupt, Xzibit, Joell Ortiz, KRS One, The Outlawz, WC, Crazytown, De La Soul, Kool Keith, Koolism and many other well respected names in the Hip Hop genre.
Alongside the music and media KP also dedicates some of its focus representing for the roots of its community planning and executing various youth and human rights initiatives for prison inmates and disadvantaged local teens.
