Rambo is a real-life crime fighting hero.
A police dog that goes by the name “Rambo” caught a gunman who fired at police officers in Prince George’s County, Md., Sunday morning, according to WJLA.
Othman Conteh, 31, was arrested by police after a nine-hour standoff that ended when Conteh, who was barricaded inside a house, jumped eleven feet out of a second-story window, threatened police officers who surrounded the house with a semi-automatic pistol, shot at an officer and tried to make a break for it on foot after a special operations officer fired at and missed the suspect.
That’s when Rambo was called into action. The four-year-old Belgian Malinois ran after the gunman and grabbed onto his arm, according to the Washington Post. Rambo took the gunman to the ground where police were able to catch up and make an arrest.
Conteh was headed in the direction of news crews, who were able to catch what ensued:

“These dogs are heroes in their own right,” Prince George’s Assistant Police Chief Kevin Davis told the Washington Post. “This is just an epitome of why training pays off.”
Conteh, who is believed to have been high on PCP at the time of the arrest, was acting erratically, according to police. The Washington Post reports that Conteh threw multiple objects, including a television set, through the windows of the home, shattering the windows and injuring his hands in the process.
Conteh is being charged with first degree assault on a police officer, in addition to other charges related to his erratic behavior, including reckless endangerment and malicious destruction of property.
According to the Post, after his arrest, Conteh was taken to the hospital, “to be treated for the dog bite and any effects of narcotic use.”
