Amanda Bynes offered $200K advance for record deal

Amanda Bynes Manhattan Criminal Court Appearance - July 9, 2013

The world may still not believe in Amanda Bynes’ music career, but Chinga Chang Records, the New York-based record label that initially offered her a record deal still does. According to a new report, the label is now willing to offer her $200,000 to sign with them.

Back in June, Daniel Herman of Chinga Chang initially offered Bynes a deal worth $150,000, claiming “I think that she’s more gangster than Drake.” However, Bynes rescinded the deal over a difference in artistic vision.

But according to RadarOnline, Herman has upped the ante and is now willing to pay Bynes $200K to sign with them with and promises she can keep the money no matter what.

“I would have to be an idiot to not do everything in my power to create a classic album with her. It’s not about being more gangster than Drake, it’s about representing the culture and having the ability to make better music than him,” Herman said.

“She’s got that. I just want her to let me have the opportunity to prove it to the world,” he added.

RadarOnline also obtained a copy of Herman’s letter offer, in which he apologized making Bynes “feel uncomfortable” and offers her “complete creative control of all aspects” of the project, as well as 50 percent of the profits.

Amanda Bynes - Record Deal Offer

We’re still not sure why Herman is so caught up on the idea of beating Drake, but considering that Bynes is a freshman in music and has no solid fan base or extraordinary singing voice, a deal this lucrative would be hard to pass up. Although it still pales in comparison to the budgets that artists like Drake get. Still though, that’s a lot of money.

We’re certainly not going to put it past Bynes to take the deal, but the question still remains, “does anyone actually want to hear an Amanda Bynes’ album?”

We still doubt that the public does, but she’s not only celeb we’re not interested in hearing an album from. Check out some other wannabe singers and rappers who we’d prefer to be silent below. – nicholas robinson
