“Here @ Young Money, we don’t do diss records, we drop HIT RECORDS & diss u ON them.”
Nicki Minaj may be a few things, but in this case, at least she’s not liar. In a laughable twist of events, the crossover rap queen used Remy Ma’s low-grade unprofitable diss track “shETHER” as bait to establish her soon-to-be chart topping response. Dropping “No Frauds” last month, she finally shared the video for the track.
Let’s be clear, she can’t see Remy on the lyricism front. “shEther” is an appropriate name as she totally obliterated Nicki’s claim to fame. But the Bronx’s native ruthless tongue is no match for Nicki’s star power. In the absence of cool quips and comebacks, Nicki makes up for it in coins. And as Jay Z famously said “Men Lie. Women Lie. Number’s don’t.”
Nicki is waving her proverbial middle finger with pride in her latest visual. Tapping friends and label mates Lil Wayne and Drake to join in on her chart topping shade, she even cameos Remy’s Ex best friend Rah Ali as an extra fist to the face. Directed by Benny Boom, the queen native all but pushes the idea of her supreme rap Queendom down our throats. While adorning bedazzled headpieces and flawlessly seated on her throne, she also includes additional shots of red double-deckers, British gates and Big Ben to further flaunt her sovereignty.
Staying true to her statement “Queens Don’t Move On Peasant Time,” check out her video below. If you’re in the mood, revisit Remy Ma’s “shETHER” here.
